[ We'll see where this goes. Trisha's ready to try to disarm anyone if it comes to it, but he'll let Bucky try to talk it out first. ]

"He ...killed them, he was going to kill me..."

The feather person lets out a sob, and nods.

Yeah. That's pretty obvious. Still...it doesn't look like he's about to hurt anyone now.

[Sounding a little uneasy, and glancing back at Trisha for a moment with a nod, then at the boy and the feather person again--]

Who are they, and why did he kill them?

"They're -- the scientists. The Order." The boy trembles, arms straining like he wants to bring the weapon down, but can't bring himself to.

Scientists, huh. What were they doing?

"Torturing us to fight a war!" His knuckles tighten on the sword.

It's okay to beat the shit out of someone torturing you, kid. It's too bad they got killed instead of brought to justice, but that happens in a war.

Is he really going to kill you too? Seems to me like maybe you can talk it out.

[Touches Trisha's shoulder, murmurs to him:]

Hey. Be ready to help step in?

"Yes," the feathers whisper. "I need to die. I want him to come."

"See?" the boy wails. "I don't want to do this, but I need to live!"

[ Flexing his fingers and then tightening them up into fists. He's ready to move when Bucky says the word. ]

[Stubbornly:]

You don't have to be enemies. You can help each other.

[Oh god oh god what would Steve do here it's not like Cap would be in a room full of flesh and corpses and blood and feather-people anyway.]

Feather guy. What's your side of the story? You should speak up.

Uh--actually, first you should probably put that heart away somewhere safe.

[ While Bucky's still distracting by talking, Trevor's going to run fast, charging and aiming for the scythe dude. He's hoping to knock him over and pin down that scythe hand, using his whole body as a .

It's also worth mentioning that he moves really fast for a man his age, not superhumanly, but he's very much in shape and is actually pretty strong despite the way he looks. ]

The feather guy lets out a screech, feathers flying, heart flying out of his hand, and Trisha probably gets sliced a little by that scythe arm -- though not badly, since it's weighed down by the corpse on it.

The boy with the sword looks horrified. "You lied to us too?! You just asked him -- Everyone's terrible!"

Dammit, Trisha--

[he's going to dive to try to catch the heart, moving fast!]

[ Yes sarcasm is the best idea right now. Getting cut open kinda hurts but even if he doesn't remember it he's def had worse. He'll live. ]

The feather-person squirms and yells, wailing in a heartbreaking tone, while the other boy tries to decide where to aim his sword.

Bucky catches the heart!

This seems to decide something in the sword boy, and he walks over to Trisha and the feather person, raising his sword again.

Kid!

Do what you gotta do, but you're gonna have to live with it afterwards!

Trisha, get out of there.

[ Very ungracefully going to roll away from the feather-person, trail of blood following him. Looks like he has a long, but shallow gash in his arm. ]

The boy lets out a choked laugh. "Do you think I don't know that? Keep that safe. I can't."

He stabs the feather-person.

Feathers and blood fly everywhere. When it clears, you're alone on a pile of corpses with a heart in your hands.

...damn. Damn, damn, dammit--

Trisha, do you know where Kanda went? We should bring this heart to him.

[Looking around for exits, though, and checking to see whether the way they came is still passable.]

[ Getting up and... Trisha is smiling? Trisha is smiling. Adrenaline rushes are awesome. ]

How romantic, loverboy gets the heart. Good idea.

[ He's going to join Bucky in looking for a way out. ]

You could go back the way you came, but finding Kanda right now would be tricky.

The path also continues to the right, where it splits, one path winding up, another down.

[Eying that smile. Trisha, you worry him.]

Too bad I have no idea where Kanda is now. Let's just keep going--I'll hang onto this and keep it safe until we find Kanda.

[Going to keep the heart in his right hand so he doesn't accidentally squish it or something. Yes. Anyway, let's head to the right and try to determine whether there's any difference between the up and down paths...]

Can't tell. You'll need to pick a path and go on it.

[ Follows alongside him with a bounce in his step. This, plus the fact that none of this seems to actually bother him... yeah the worry is completely justified. ]

We already went up, Kanda probably went down.
